As I’ve gotten older, I only make fun New Year’s Resolutions. For example, go to more concerts or have more adventures. But if you’re still in the habit of making more productive New Year’s Resolutions and one of those is to become more knowledgeable about cybersecurity, I thought I would share the list of free cyber resources I’ve accumulated over the years.
Harvard’s Intro to Cyber course
ISC2’s Certified in Cybersecurity
Comptia’s Security+ SYO-601
EC Council’s Ethical Hacking Essentials
CyberDefender’s Blue Team Training for SOC Analysts
SANS has several great resources
They list their free workshops here
The SIFT workstation is a collection of free and open-source incident response and forensic tools designed to perform detailed digital forensic examinations that can help you learn the trick of the trade
They also have a free webcasts and white papers that can help further your knowledge
My favorites are the posters and cheat sheets. I’ve been using the OSINT poster and the Windows Third Party App Forensics poster for most of my career. You do have to create an account to download these, but they are still free.
There are many more free resources out there, but I have used these in the past and had success with them. Feel free to share your favorites in the comments below. I’d love to learn about some new ones that you’d have success with.
Thank you as always for reading and Happy New Year!
Thanks Andrea, Happy New Year! Thanks for some very useful resources.
